Software Engineer – Algorithms, Automation & Vision Systems
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our cross-disciplinary team driving the future of photonics and intelligent automation. In this role, you will develop advanced algorithms, machine vision systems, and precision control software to enable high-performance manufacturing, optical testing, and smart device operation.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, real-time control, and deep-tech photonics, contributing directly to the software backbone of cutting-edge laser systems, FBG fabrication, and optical inspection platforms.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and implement laser-based micro/nano-fabrication systems, including femtosecond and picosecond laser processing.
-
Perform high-precision FBG inscription and post-processing using custom laser setups.
-
Conduct laser beam alignment, shaping, and stability optimization across complex optical paths.
-
Integrate nanomaterials (e.g., thin films, 2D materials) into photonic devices, and characterize their optical properties.
-
Develop process protocols, automation routines, and quality control standards for consistent fabrication.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development, from prototyping to scalable manufacturing.
-
Maintain lab equipment, document procedures, and ensure laser safety and compliance.
Qualifications
-
Master’s or PhD in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science.
-
Strong hands-on experience in laser fabrication, FBG processing, and optical system design.
-
Familiarity with nanofabrication techniques, optical metrology, and laser safety standards.
-
Experience with beam delivery systems, optical simulation (e.g., Zemax, COMSOL), and control software (e.g., LabVIEW, Python).
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative, fast-paced R&D environment.
Preferred Experience (Bonus)
-
Experience with femtosecond laser systems and fiber alignment stages.
-
Knowledge of photonic integration, waveguide fabrication, or ultrafast optics.
-
Background in materials characterization (SEM, AFM, Raman, etc.).
What We Offer
-
A unique opportunity to work at the intersection of
-
Access to state-of-the-art laser labs and fabrication facilities.
-
Collaborative team culture with global research and commercial impact.
