Innofocus Food Transportation and Preservation Discussion with Costa

We were delighted to welcome Maurizio Rocchetti and Bill Northausen from Costa, Australia’s leading grower, packer, and marketer of fresh produce, as well as Elke Minkevicius from Driscoll’s’s, to Innofocus’s Customer Innovation and Practice Centre (CIPC) this morning.

We were also honoured to have Professor Baohua Jia, FTSE from RMIT STEM College’s Centre of Atomaterials and Nanomanufacturing, who joined us once again for valuable discussions on smarter and more sustainable solutions in fruit and vegetable growing, as well as safe food transportation and preservation.

At Innofocus, we recognised the critical importance of food safety and sustainability. Our team has developed and launched a self-cooling film that consumes zero electricity, already applied to Smart Greenhouses. This innovation has demonstrated a 30% reduction in energy consumption and a 20% reduction in water usage, while improving nutrient and water use efficiency — all without compromising crop productivity or quality.

A big thank you to the Costa team and Professor Baohua Jia for the insightful discussions. We look forward to future collaborations in driving innovation for a more sustainable future!
